Grade 7 Homework Schedule

Gudielines

  • Homework is regarded as an integral part of the instructional programme and the satisfactory completion of all homework tasks is mandatory.
  • In addition to any written homework, all students are required to read independently every day and to set aside time for independent study and revision. Grade 7 students have entered the Middle School phase of their education. They must become self-disciplined in their private study as an essential preparation for their years of higher education.
  • Students are required to keep a Homework Book in which each homework task must be recorded. Against each task should be written the date by which the work is due. Completed homework must be given directly to the teacher concerned.

Homework schedule

Homework will be given, and should be completed, on the following days. Teachers will indicate the due date for submission of homework and students should record this date in their Homework Books.
Each homework task is designed to take about 30 - 45 minutes of conscientious work, making a total homework time of no more than 1½ hour each day.

What happens if homework is not completed on time?

If homework is handed in late or incomplete, the student will be required to attend Homework Detention the following Friday afternoon from 2:20 – 4:00 p.m. Parents will be given at least 24 hours notice of this and are asked to support the school in ensuring that students understand that we take homework very seriously.
